FAQ’s - Answers to our most frequently asked questions

Having an organized home will simplify the way you live but for many people, finding the time to organize seems impossible and can be a daunting and overwhelming task. Hence, where we come in.

As professional organizers, we work with a variety of clients in a variety of spaces. When speaking with our clients, we often hear the same questions. Here we are going to answer the top 4 questions that seem to be on everyone's mind.

FAQ #1: What is a professional organizer?

A professional organizer is a person who can help you declutter and organize your space. We offer support in decision making and create systems that simplify your space and give you back your time. Our services include home organizing, decluttering services, file sorting, packing, unpacking, new home set up, room styling, holiday decorating and more. We work in almost any spaces within homes and businesses.

FAQ #2: Will I have to get rid of most of my things?

This is one of the most common reasons people fear hiring a professional organizer. These days, it seems everywhere you turn on social media, organizers are gaining popularity in focusing on a minimalist lifestyle and for good reason...most of us own far more things than we truly need. But who are we to tell you what you what belongs in your home?

Although we encourage our clients to remove any items from their space that do not hold value in their home and life, it is important to note that our clients make all decisions on what stays or goes. We are not able to tell you what is important to you. As professional organizers, our role is to support and guide you through the decision making process to determine which items are valuable enough to remain in your space. These items may belong because you use them or because they hold other value to you personally.

FAQ #3: How long does a project take?

Every home is unique and every project requires a different length of time. There are several factors that impact the amount of time a project will require. Room size, current state, decision making and end of project goals affect the organization time needed. At Tidy Matters, we offer a complimentary one hour consultation (click here to schedule) and we will take your budget into consideration when reviewing your project needs and goals.

Clutter and disorganization have a direct impact on your health and well being. Hiring a professional organizer is an investment in your home and the way you live. It is a life changing experience and we promise it is worth every penny.

FAQ #4: Do I need to clean up before you arrive?

Please DON'T.

Hey, we get it and you're not alone. We live in our homes too and trust us when we say our homes are not perfect all the time either. But you've invited us in for a reason. When we come to your home for your consultation, we are there to gain insight into how your home is currently functioning (or not functioning) and where the stress points are occurring. In order for us to understand and create the right system for you, we need to see all the down and dirty of it. And don't worry, we promise we have seen it all before! Not only to we come 100% judgement free, we actually get excited about the mess and most importantly, we are here to help!

We want to help you get organized. If you have additional questions about your project that we haven’t covered here, reach out to us. We would love to set up a discovery call to discuss your project.

Until next time,

Angie & Pam
